Invitation to Member Societies to Submit Proposals to Host the IFFS 2013 Congress

Dear IFFS Member Societies,

As a benefit of membership in IFFS, your Society is entitled to have a city in your country considered as the site for the 2013 IFFS Congress. The IFFS invites the participating countries to make application and, if successful, be awarded the Congress which will give the host member society the title of Chair of the Local Organizing Committee with the privileges of:

• organizing the necessary local committees
• recommending the social and cultural functions and activities
• advising and counseling IFFS on appropriate local procedures and processes
• participating on the Scientific Committee in building the program
• active participation in the program
• world wide recognition

IFFS is responsible for all operational matters including:

• hiring a professional conference organizer
• on site management
• preparing the necessary budgets and monthly financial reports
• making all necessary payments
• acquiring the necessary insurance

IFFS is responsible for all financial matters. There are none for the host society. The successful host member society will receive 10% of the net revenue of the congress.

I have attached for your reference a detailed description of the application process complete with timelines. Please feel free to contact those named for further information you may require. In addition, we include a "concept paper" that provides some insight into the organizational thinking for the different responsibilities. This can be modified if all parties agree.

IFFS has tried to make this as easy as possible for our Member Societies to participate: no financial responsibilities for the operation of the Congress and a 10% of net revenue as an incentive for your support. This keeps the "ownership" of IFFS close to the Member Societies.
